Press Release
“We are honored to be nominated for the Edison Award,” says Smile Stations CEO Nazar Kamangar. “Smile Stations is the only point-of-care interactive patient education, advertising and merchandising platform in oral care with camera for social media engagement and voice activation skills to create a better patient engagement experience.”
The idea behind Smile Stations was instigated when Dr. Omid Mehdipour realized there was a huge need for digital and mobile education for his orthodontic patients. In 2014 he contacted his friend of three decades, female MBA entrepreneur, Nazar Kamangar, who had a brilliant idea for captive audiences in the waiting rooms of dental offices. Smile Stations was developed as a result: a solution for an interactive digital patient engagement that could support education, communication, and merchandising at point of care.
Working with a team of engineers and a supplier who believed in her vision, Nazar spent four years developing the software and hardware that makes Smile Stations a revolutionary solution that is disrupting a historically slow to change oral care market.
Kamangar explains that withthe new technology, dental offices can effectively share valuable information with their patients. It allows people to become more educated about oral health while learning about the products and services that are available to them. It also provides ways for dental practices to initiate, support and close sales at point-of-care.
